Finished Insect Building





This is the completed insect hut with a normal map. I've had to rush this to a certain extent because I'm very focused on keeping these projects set within a 3 day time period. This asset took 2 of the 3 days that I set because I didn't use the day we were briefed to do any work.

Overall the design is "ok" but I feel like I could have optimised my time better by using more NURBS primitives to ease up on the normal mapping. Also If I had more time I would have separated it up into pieces to bring it into Zbrush as the model had far to many features for a high resolution sculpt. It felt rushed, but this has taught me to possibly aim lower in the scope of work for the directed projects.

Bug Hut

This is a close to finished version of the *untextured* version of my insect remains building. I'm happy with it, although I'm unsure if I can get it all textured in 3 days (the amount of time I'm allowing myself to work on the side projects).

PROJECT #1 - Insects

My idea for the first project is to make a *small* hut that is crafted from insect chitin, and have it draped with home furnishings. I'm thinking of creating a "shell" like home crafted from a large insects thorax/abdomen with its legs as supports/structure to the build with man-made features attached onto the outside.
